Buy green energy

Energy that is a renewable resource should be a part of our everyday lives. We live and breathe air, yet our air carries pollutants from factories, cars, and even some of our homes. Green energy starts with one person, and then another person until finally everyone is making it the first step to becoming Green. One major resource that has started to become more and more known is the simple windmill which can give us wind power, even on a personal level. It isn’t all big business. This is what we need and finally there is a dot on the horizon that continues to spread, well, like the wind.

Case and Point: The University of Pennsylvania topped the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s 2009-2010 College and University Green Power Challenge by purchasing more than 192 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green power. (Network, Green Power)

Wind power is inexhaustible. It is power that will last and become our future. The big plus, is you can buy green energy. From wind power, to solar, hydro-power and geothermal. According to the Department of Energy, green power is able to be purchased by more than 50% of the customers in the United States. The easiest way to find out if you can purchase green power and to be able to save on renewable energy is to contact your local electric company.

The best thing that can be done is to become aware of what is out there. Several universities, businesses, federal sources, cities and states already purchase green energy. The list is growing with places like, Staples, Dell, Facebook, Colorado State University, Harvard, Starbucks, and so on, are a few of those listed. With all things, you want to make sure that the place selling you green energy is credible.
