Green Renewable Energy
Using the Earth’s Replenishing Power
Renewable energy is the use of natural resources that replenish themselves like the wind, water, and geothermal heat to produce energy. For the past five years in particular green renewable energy has been on the rise. Here is a little more information about these methods, how they are implemented, and what situations they are best suited for.
Wind – Turbines
Recently wind turbine technology has been used in windy flat-land areas to generate renewable energy electricity. That energy is in turn exported to where it is most needed, which is usually to a power grid for local use. Using this method of energy production produces no pollutants, emissions, or other harmful byproducts during its operation. An industrial type electrical generation wind farm will pay for itself in 6-9 months from the start of operation.
Water – Hydropower
From the time pioneers used mills, until now, turbines have been used to harness energy. Hydropower is a viable green renewable energy source, provided that where it is used there is adequate rainfall, water pressure, overflow, and a water system to channel or transport it. A hydro project requires various licenses and permits to install, which can be attained through local environmental agencies and city planning authorities.
Sun – Solar Panels
One of the most common and easily recognized forms of harnessing the sun’s rays into is by using solar panels. These panels ether use the heat of the sun to heat water, or turn it directly into electricity. In order to be most effective the panels should be installed on a southerly faced surface at a 30 degree angle, and should be far away from any objects that cast a shadow.
These are just a few of the many ways to use natural resources as to generate renewable green energy.
